This weekend..

We went to Jurong East Library and were greeted by these two cute icons once we stepped in. I believe children in Singapore are not unfamiliar with libraries. Parents tend to bring their kids to the library during weekend which I think is a good activity and habit to start since young. Almost every estate in Singapore has its own library, no wonder Singapore is well known as education city. The best part is you can return the book borrowed from one library to any other libraries around the city.

After we have gotten the books we want, we proceeded to IMM for lunch. We had a mutton briyani and murtabak. Yeah, a very heaty lunch indeed :) But Val polished off her mutton briyani and murtabak although it's pretty spicy for her. Thumbs up girl!

It's not easy to get raw mutton in the wet market in Singapore and we don't have it at our market, so the only way for us to eat mutton is through nasi briyani or patron any Indonesian restaurant. Why the hassle to get mutton this weekend? It's because Val has been coughing on and off for the past weeks. Sometimes it's a cold cough and sometimes it's heaty cough (according to Chinese Physician). So when one has cold cough, a more heaty meal is needed to balance off the body and vice versa. This week, I find Val is having cold cough and Grandma advised that we go and eat mutton. And the easiest way, of course, is through our favourite mutton briyani :)

I am glad that Val loves any type of food and is willing to try and sometimes 'forced' to try :) Hahaha...I just don't want her to miss out any type of food. She just loves meat: duck, chicken, pork belly, mutton, beef and seafood (fish, prawn, and sea cucumber too). As long as it's tasty (meaning salty and fragrant), she will eat with no hassle. So far, she hasn't tried jelly fish, octopus and crabs which I am not keen to let her taste yet.

My family also loves to experience new food and we love any type of food from Chinese, Western, Indonesian, Indian, Malay to Korean, Thai, Japanese, Italian, German. Would love to experience more of Middle East (Nepal or Pakistan) and Mexican too. Anyone have any good suggestion for Middle East or Mexican food in Singapore?
