One day, out of the blue I decided to bring Val to the only goat milk farm in Singapore, Hay Dairies, without realizing how far it was :P Being a direction idiot, we drove through the ulu Lim Chu Kang area and only when I passed through the cemetery, I realized how remote this farm is situated *grin* There were not many cars on the road, only few trucks around, and I wasn't even sure whether we were in the right direction although we have the GPS. But it's too late to turn back as Val is full of anticipation by then hehe...
When we finally reach the Hay Dairies, we were the only visitor at 11 am in the morning and welcomed by the distinctive smell from the goats. It was a small farm though it houses about 1000 goats according to the information posted on the board. We quickly walk around and made our goat milk purchased and found out that there are many farms in that area such as the Frog Farm, Fish Farms etc...so I decided to make calls to those farms and check whether we can pay a visit since we are nearby...The first one we picked is the Frog Farm :)
We managed to find Jurong Frog Farm, though it was not open for visitor during weekdays, we were allowed to get in the sale office and bought some frogs food for feeding. Val is getting excited and so eager to get out to feed. There were two rows of ponds located in the alley and once we walked in, I already feel all my hair is standing up :-P. The ponds are filled with lots and lots amphibians which croaked and croaked. But since I can't disappoint Val, I have to 'force' myself to stay with her till she finished the feeds. Too bad we didn't get to taste the delicacies made from this amphibian...However, they do sell fresh and frozen frog meat, venison, tilapia, and crocodile meat. They also sell fresh snow jelly and bottled hashima which is famously known good for the skin and lung.
After the Frog Farm, we tried to look for one of the fish farm, but since the direction is not clear and our GPS can't work well, we didn't manage to find it :( And that's the only two farms we manage to visit on the farm tour...
We visited Botanic Garden many times during this month as Val loves to feed the fish and turtles at the Swan Lake. She was in the mood to pose and show her 'kung fu' feeding style here *sigh Maybe I should stop her from watching Power Rangers now as she likes to mimic their actions nowadays...
Daddy brought us Indian thosai for breakfast during one of the trips and we enjoyed it by the Swan Lake. Val loves thosai with lots of curries though she is not very good in eating spicy food ^_^
One of the Sunday, we sent Grandpa to airport and stay in airport for close to 7 hours. I think this is the longest time I have ever stayed in Changi Airport. We found ourselves keep shuffling from T2 to T3 then back to T2 haiz...There is this Angry Bird bouncy castles and playground set up for kids at T3 Departure Hall, Angry Bird soft toy for claim for purchase of min S$60 at the airport and The Slide which most kids will love. So Val had a blast of time playing from morning till afternoon, from breakfast till lunch and tea time. We almost had our dinner there if we didn't drag her away *LOL
Below is Val having her playground time...
We watched CZ12 on Christmas Eve at GV, Plaza Singapore. Val sat through the whole show and had a good time in the cinema. We always love Jackie Chan movies and he is truly a legend and now we are introducing this kungfu star to Val :) And that's how we spent our holiday month this year...
Quote of the day:
Christmas is not about toys,
Christmas is not about money,
Christmas is about giving food to the needy,
Christmas is about loving ur family,
Christmas is to get time to spend with ur family,
What's Christmas,
Christmas is about the holiday,
Christmas is about loving what you get,
Christmas is not about sending cards,
Christmas is about love...
