A week in HK and Macao

I have been wanting to visit HK from long long time ago....No idea why HK but it's my dream destination and finally, we were there last week...:) We were actually planning for beach holiday during for this Vesak's holiday but suddenly Hubby suggested HK, so why not? Since we have postponed the trip from 5 years ago hahhahaha....

Long queue greeted us in the airport despite it's 4.30 in the morning...Lots of students too, guess it's their exchange trip programs, how lucky these youngsters nowadays, get to travel since young...:)

Upon reaching and checking in our hotel, we straight away went to buy our next day ferry ticket to Macao and walk around the Central. Chance upon a filming going on at one of the streets, lots of people watching and waiting but didn't get to see who was inside the car...:) Only know it's a lady...

Well, being both first timers to HK, we both find HK is very similar to Sing in lots of ways....but with HK more crowded, longer and bigger subways stations, more polluted and more untidy...hihihi...with those advertisements hanging from the shops windows...It's a well mixture of modern and old culture though...We proceeded to Avenue of Stars in the night and it was a very cloudy and windy evening, thought that we get to experience storm soon...but nope, it didn't happen...

We took an early ferry to Macao the next day, left our luggage at hotel concierge and straight away gone for city tour on a tricycle. Macao is a beautiful peaceful small city to me, I just love the feeling being there...

The famous St Paul's ruins and Senado Square...

Macao is so different at night, so vibrant with all the lights from 34 casinos, it's just like a mini Vegas to us...

Venetian itself is a huge resorts with 1000 over shops and it has become one of the tourist attraction itself, with beautiful architecture. Another huge resort, Galaxy, is being built opposite Venetian and guess it will be ready next year. Crowds from PRC and India flock the place and shops. Ckckck...

The spacious suite room which we didn't have much time to appreciate...:P Can't imagine if I bring Val along during this trip, must be tiring from chasing her around in the room too...:)

Back to HK, we toured the highly dangerous Mongkok (venue of acid splashing incident), it's another crowded place with shopping centers, shops and lots of street snacks...

Our forth day is spent in Disney, the only place I wished I had brought Val along with us....hehehhe....As complaint, Disney HK is small in size, maybe around the same as our Singapore zoo only or maybe smaller....but I think it's a right size if you wanna bring toddlers around...Managed to catch all the shows and the rides by the time it closes....but not the individual shops...Hope to bring Val here in the next 2 years when she is older and easier to handle...^_^

We had a half day city tour the next day, visiting HK Convention Center, Aberdeen HK (the floating village)

Next we proceeded to Repulse Bay, one of the most famous beach in HK, where all the rich and famous bungalows are seen here...

View from the peak was spectacular, we were lucky as it was a sunny day with little fog...Madame Tussaud is located just at the peak, and finally I got to take pics with so many celebrities hahahha...

On the 6th day, we went to Ngong Ping 360 to visit the Giant Buddha...The ride with cable car was wonderful, though thick fogs were covering us that day...Amazed how they built the long cable car and the Buddha statue.

Our last day in HK was spent in Causeway Bay...Just realized that we haven't been there...It was a place with lots of local foods and restaurants...I would say that we only managed to cover 75% of HK interesting places during this trip, but we were very happy and satisfied already....Apart from being too tired of walking and sick of eating out, we enjoyed our couple time very much too...:)

So thankful to my Mom who helped to look after Val so that we can have a piece of mind during the trip. My Mom said Val only looked for us for the first two days and my Mom told her that Daddy Mommy went for work, she didn't ask anymore...hahahhaa....Val is really a very independent and mature little girl hehehe...we called and talk to her once every 2 days during the trip. Though we missed her a lot, but we were glad that we didn't bring her along as it's not easy bringing a toddler around crowded HK and some subways didn't even have escalators, we had to climb stairs...hihihi...Singapore is still a more comfortable and convenient place honestly...:)
