As Val approaches her 2nd birthday, her vocabulary improves tremendously and she talks a lot everyday. She just amazes and amuses me each day with longer sentences now. The other day, when she saw her uncle came out from his room, she quickly went over and said "Xiao Jiu, kai Barney, xie xie (Xiao Jiu, please play Barney, Thank You). How can her uncle has the heart to reject her when she asked so politely? *wink
Normally when she wakes up in the morning, I will ask her "Jin tian ni xiang chi shen me? (What would you like to eat today?)" Her answers are "Cai cai (vege), mian mian (noodle) and dou dou (beans). Three of her favourite foods :-)
Her favourite word is actually "Xiao (Laugh)" ever since she understands the meaning of this word as she is one cheerful girl who loves to laugh. Whenever she sees me getting angry, she will quickly say "Mommy, Xiao". It is okay if she says it at home as we all know what she means by that. But when she says it out loud in public, others who hear it might think otherwise as in Xiao - Crazy, so as her Mommy usually I just pretend that I didn't hear it or laugh it off hahaha...Very dangerous when our child starts talking too...:P Must be careful with whatever we say in front of her. I guess soon I will be real busy answering her questions "Why this? Why that?" and kids can repeat the same questions again and again. *LOL
Besides improvement in her communication skills, she is also becoming more active and harder to look after. She just "flew" from our bed and landed on the floor 3 times in 2 days. Haiz...Not sure whether it's her hidden talent to be a stuntwomen or acrobat performer. Worse is, she just cried for 2 mins and back to her normal chatty self after that and will perform the same stunt again. *shake head
Am glad that she develops a new hobby "READING" which I hope will be a permanent one as this is one of the most important good habits. She normally will chirp away in her own words, pretending to be very good at reading, looking at pics. She especially like rhymes while long stories will put her to boredom in no time ^_^ She looks quite serious here when she is reading :
